Briefing call: Completed foreclosures skyrocket from 2011 to 2012 ...

WASHINGTON, D.C. ? February 6, 2013 ? (RealEstateRama) ? This morning Woodstock Institute released a report showing that completed foreclosures in the Chicago area increased nearly 75 percent in 2012, the largest single-year increase since the foreclosure crisis began.

Tomorrow, Woodstock will be hosting a briefing call at 3 p.m. CST to go into more detail about the data, the challenges they identify, and potential policy solutions to address those challenges.

Woodstock Institute Vice President Spencer Cowan will cover the extensive census tract-level foreclosure data recently released and what it means for Chicago-area neighborhoods.

Cook County Commissioner Bridget Gainer will discuss the recently established Cook County Land Bank and how the land bank can facilitate redevelopment in areas of high foreclosure rates and vacant properties.
